Scarlet

Scarlet By: Marissa Meyer

I am loving this series so far. Not only does the story of Cinder continue but you also get to know a girl named Scarlet and her story until finally the two come crashing together. This is a series that as soon as I finish one book I don't even hesitate to pick up the next in the series.

Cinder

Cinder By: Marissa Meyer

So this was a surprising book to me. I have had it for awhile but the whole cyborg thing really made it easy to pass by to look for other books to read. Then the whole "cinder" meaning Cinderella was also a bit of a deterrence. Every time I would push it aside though I always had someone tell me how good a book it was. Well this past week I finally decided to give it a try. A little bit here..."yeah ok it might be alright". A little bit there, "well ok that's different". A little bit more..."HA a plague well isn't that convenient, maybe I should have read this last year". Then things hit a little closer to the main character and I'm hooked. Seriously so much so that instead of watching shows or movies at work ( I work night watch) I was all about this book and in no time had finished the whole thing.

I will admit there were some elements to the book that I had figured out before the big reveal. But not enough to make me lose interest. Obviously! Plus there were a lot of twists and turns that I thought I would know the outcome but then it would change and have me thinking "wait was that really suppose to happen?" So overall this book was absolutely NOT what I thought it was going to be and now I am chomping at the bit to start the next book to continue the story to find out what happens.

The Adventures of Tom Bombadil

The Adventures of Tom Bombadil  By: J.R.R. Tolkien

Tom Bombadil has always been one of my favorite characters in the Lord of the Rings books. I am not really sure why but it always has been. So I was excited to find this book of  a collection of poetry that Tolkien wrote. With some in regards to Tom Bombadil. This is a fun book and I really enjoyed it, course I am a huge Tolkien fan so of course I would love it. :p

Midnight Sun

Midnight Sun  By: Stephenie Meyer

I'm not sure if this book needs much introduction, it has been highly anticipated for awhile. I was so excited to see that Stephenie Meyer had continued this book.

This is the same story as Twilight but through the eyes of Edward Cullen. How often do you have a chance to see the same story but through the eyes of two different characters. I loved that! It put a whole different spin and outlook on the story for me and I really enjoyed it. There is also some questions that I had in Twilight that are answered in this book.

If your a Twilight fan this is a MUST read.

2020 Book Challenge Review

I am really proud of myself. I know that 20 books seem like nothing to some. But for me it's huge even without worrying about homework and schooling. I am so excited I made it and I enjoyed the ride. I am going to keep my book challenge at 20 for 2021 because I feel that is still al lofty goal for me with my full time school and night job. Here is a list of the books I read in 2020. Happy reading in 2021 !! :)
