Stars Above

Stars Above By: Marissa Meyer

This is a collection of childhood stories from the main characters of the lunar chronicles as well as a story from a new set of characters. It is also has short story of the main characters fast forwarded two years.

I really enjoyed this series. This book was just extra icing on the cake as well as a little but more firm closure into the main characters lives. It was interesting to learn more about Cress, Thorne, Winter, Jason, Scarlet, Wolf, and of course Cinder and Kai. Both from their childhood and pasts as well as what became of them 2 years after the ending of the last book.

I know this all seems vague; I really try to give an honest and decent review of these books I read without giving away any spoilers. I think I do a good job and succeed in this aspect.

Winter

Winter By: Marissa Meyer

I'll have to admit I was a little daunted by the size of this book. But I was so excited to continue this series, it has been so amazing. This book once again didn't disappoint. There were time that I did have to stop reading to take in the story and everything that was happening with all the characters. But then I continued again. Getting to know all these characters has been so fun and at times with the twists and turns I thought NO that cant happen but then could see a possible way the author could take the story if the shocking new twist I just read was real.

Overall another enjoyable read and one that I can actual envision myself return to re-read again some day.

Fairest

Fairest By: Marissa Meyer

Amazing, jaw dropping writing. It has been a long time since I have received a physical reaction from a book. This book was so well written that it sucked me in deeper than the other books and at one point made me feel literally physically ill. The character that she has created in Lavana and her back story is a truly sad and yet terrifying one as well. Villain's in any story bring a sense of emotion to any book, movie, etc. There are villian's that you can love, hate or love to hate. But Lavana to me is truly terrifying in the sense that she is a villain who is so real and so common place that others like her have been seen throughout history. Real People! The one that most came to mind for me was Adolf Hitler. Diluted by his own fantasy of a race of pure Arian people he was ready to do what it took for his country and in his opinion its greater good. Lavana is a character that reminds me of this. She doesn't feel any guilt or remorse for all the evil things she does because she justifies it to herself as being the only way to help her country and her people. Before when I was simply reading Cinder, Scarlet and Cress I found Lavana annoying. But now I can see she is truly evil as the characters of those books often pointed out.

Cress

Cress By Marissa Meyer

Another great book. These books are so much fun and really suck you into the story. It's so fun to be introduced to new characters while continuing the stories of the characters that you've already grown to love or hate. It's also fun to see the main characters grow. I also love all the twists and turns this book gives. There are some that really surprised me. Overall another great read. Now onto the next 👊
