I have owned this book for some time and it has just been sitting on my shelf. I finally read it and I am so very glad I did. I really enjoyed learning about the various men and women who rescued and helped restore the worlds art back to their rightful homes. I am currently working towards my degree in Art History. This book and the story of the monuments men really spoke to me and made me think/feel that if I lived back then I probably would have tried to become a monuments men myself to help in the recovery effort. I am so grateful for people who think of preserving heritage and culture through such horrible times such as war.
