The Spiderwick Chronical's: The Field Guide

The SpiderWick Chronical's: The Field Guide BY: Tony DiTerlizzi & Holly Black

This is a series I have wanted to read ever since the movie came out. Still to this day I haven't seen the movie because I wanted to read the series first. So I am currently in between my Summer Semester and Fall Semester of classes and actually for once had a chance to sit down and physically open a paper book to read. Since these are so small I thought this would be a good choice. This book has 107 pages and had my attention from the beginning. It is such a cute story about a pair of identical twin boys named Jared and Simon and their older sister Mallory. Due to their parents divorce they have to move into their aunt Lucinda's estate. But this estate is nothing like these kids have ever seen or even imagined in their wildest dreams. It all started with a hidden room, a poem which leads to a book. In particular a Field Guide to the wonderous property and lands around them.

Standing for Something

Standing for Something: 10 Neglected Virtues that Will Heal our Hearts and Homes                               By: Gordon B Hinckley

This book has helped me so much. I have been going through a hard time and my "natural" response has been to try and cause pain and misery to those who caused me pain. But parts of this book has helped me through these trying times and helped me to see that it's better to look to Christ and his example towards others. I am still hurt; however this book has helped to remind me that there is always a better way to approach situations and sometimes that its not even worth the potential damage more than healing that I could cause myself by seeking out "justice" on my terms.

Dragon Watch: Wrath of the Dragon King

Dragon Watch: Wrath of the Dragon King  By: Brandon Mull

It wasn't that long ago that I first read this series. I believe it was back in 2019. The reason why I have decided to re-read these so close together was for two reasons. First they are good books and a great series. Second it has been really fun to continue Kendra and Seth's adventures from the Fablehaven series then straight to their adventures in Dragon watch. It has helped me to understand more from the dragon watch series so far to think of it as one continues series. It really ties everything together.

Dragonwatch

Dragonwatch By: Brandon Mull

I know that I just read this series. But after I re-read Fablehaven and realized just how many questions were left unanswered and how open ended the last book in the Fablehaven series really was. I couldn't help it. It really didn't seem like starting a new series but just continuing on. The transition is so smooth I am just so amazed at how well Brandon Mull writes all his books. I really enjoy all his work.

Fablehaven: Secrets of the Dragon Sanctuary

Fablehaven: Secrets of the Dragon Sanctuary  By: Brandon Mull

What a great series!!! I know I've read it before and I know I've said this after ever review but its been so long since I've read them. It's like reading them again for the first time. Kendra and Seth's adventures into the magical world continues as new twists and turns brings the Society of the Evening Star and the Knights of the Dawn closer and closer. One with the intent on destroying the world while the  other tries to save it. Each new adventure becoming more dangerous than the last.

Seriously if you love fantasy you NEED to read these books. SO GOOD!!! 😀

Fablehaven: Grip of the Shadow Plague

Fablehaven Grip of the Shadow Plague. By: Brandon Mull

Seth and Kendra's adventures continue at Fablehaven as a new threat surfaces. As the Society of the Evening Star continues to threaten life at Fablehaven and all the magical creatures that live there. A new threat inside the magical preserve surfaces with the help of the society. A dark plague starts to engulf creatures of light and even starts to take over Seth and Kendra's friends. The race to save Fablehaven from falling and all the magical creatures begins.

I am loving to re-read this series. This has been the perfect series to just enjoy right before school starts up again and I am back reading textbooks. I really enjoy Brandon Mull's writing style.
