Beautiful Creatures

Beautiful Creatures BY: Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl

It took me a long time to get through this book. At times I found it interesting and wanted to see what was going to happen next. Then at other times I would wonder if I really wanted to try and finish it. But I persevered and got through it. I'm glad I finished it but at this point I am not jumping ahead to the next book. Eventually I may want to continue the series but at this point I am not very interested.

DragonWatch- Return of the Dragon Slayers

DragonWatch: Return of the Dragon Slayers By: Brandon Mull

This is the long awaited last book of the series. I have had it since it was released in October but haven't had the chance to read it due to school. But as soon as The semester was over and Christmas/Winter break began I started it right away.

I LOVED IT!!!!! This is one of those books that I would stay up till the wee hours of the morning till I realized I needed to go to bed. I seriously enjoyed this whole series. It was such a great expansion/continuation to the Fablehaven series.

DragonWatch-Champion of the Titan Games

DragonWatch: Champion of the Titan Games By: Brandon Mull

I've read this before. But I wanted to re-read this before I started the last book of the series.

I really enjoy Brandon Mull's writing/books and I am always excited to see what else he comes out with.

Spiderwick Chronicles-The Seeing Stone

Spiderwick Chronicles- The Seeing Stone By: Tony D Terlizzi & Holly Black

I actually had a hard time with this book. At first I thought it was because I felt guilty reading a book instead of my textbook. So I waited till after finals and Christmas break had started. I sat down and was prepared to finish the book. Well turns out I just really wasn't interested and couldn't concentrate long enough to get through most of it. I wont be finishing the series.

The Spiderwick Chronical's: The Field Guide

The SpiderWick Chronical's: The Field Guide BY: Tony DiTerlizzi & Holly Black

This is a series I have wanted to read ever since the movie came out. Still to this day I haven't seen the movie because I wanted to read the series first. So I am currently in between my Summer Semester and Fall Semester of classes and actually for once had a chance to sit down and physically open a paper book to read. Since these are so small I thought this would be a good choice. This book has 107 pages and had my attention from the beginning. It is such a cute story about a pair of identical twin boys named Jared and Simon and their older sister Mallory. Due to their parents divorce they have to move into their aunt Lucinda's estate. But this estate is nothing like these kids have ever seen or even imagined in their wildest dreams. It all started with a hidden room, a poem which leads to a book. In particular a Field Guide to the wonderous property and lands around them.

Standing for Something

Standing for Something: 10 Neglected Virtues that Will Heal our Hearts and Homes                               By: Gordon B Hinckley

This book has helped me so much. I have been going through a hard time and my "natural" response has been to try and cause pain and misery to those who caused me pain. But parts of this book has helped me through these trying times and helped me to see that it's better to look to Christ and his example towards others. I am still hurt; however this book has helped to remind me that there is always a better way to approach situations and sometimes that its not even worth the potential damage more than healing that I could cause myself by seeking out "justice" on my terms.
